An overview of Organization Entity Data

Organization Entity Data provides the information needed to identify, link, and describe organizations. This data forms the essential connection from the organization to assets and information including financial instruments, documents, linked organizations such as regulators, and ownership information.

The Organization Authority (OA) database that provides a single consistent organization entity record to our products. These records provide issuer information and associated linkage across all our financial instrument offerings and should be considered as the single version of the truth for all product groups.

Over 25 products, providing unique information about legal entities (public and private), offering an extended and accurate daily coverage and maintenance of corporate actions and significant developments such as M&A, bankruptcy, reorganizations, reincorporation, spin-offs, de-mergers, and IPOs.
The singularity of OA data is assured by assigning to each entity with a unique permanent identifier, alongside other globally known identifiers (such as LEI and CIK).
Organization Entity Data includes business and industrial classifications such as The Refinitiv Business Classification (TRBC), NACE, NAICS and SIC.
The Refinitiv Business Classification describes what an organization does and has recently been updated to cover government activities that are essential for debt issuers as well as new businesses such as cannabis production, ethical farming, and new tech industries.
