Kristjan is a Research Staff Member at MIT-IBM Watson AI Lab.

Kristjan’s interests lie broadly in applying information theory and statistics to both practical and theoretical machine learning problems.

His areas of interest include learning theory, causal inference, online learning and decision making, and robust ML.

He received a PhD from the University of Michigan in 2017, focusing on signal processing and machine learning, and during the same year, he was a postdoctoral research fellow at the Harvard University Statistics department before joining IBM Research in 2018.
