About Romael
Romael Karam is a FX Proposition Sales specialist at Refinitiv, joining in 2019. He works with a wide spectrum of clients, from Tier 1 and central banks to hedge funds and individual investors
In this role, Romael advises on the appropriate solutions required from Refinitiv’s FX products and services. This includes the pre-trade desktop (Eikon), execution platforms (Matching, FXall, FXT), FX primary market data, surveillance with Refinitiv Compliance Archive, and post-trade infrastructure using the Refinitiv suite of Deal Tracker solutions and components.
Prior to working at Refinitiv, Romael spent 15 years at Harmonic Capital, moving from execution trader in 2003 to CEO in 2015 and successfully led the business through an MBO.
At Harmonic, he led the in-house initiative to automate trading activities and designed a range of execution and analysis tools by leveraging the technology resources available in-house.
Harmonic was a multi-asset systematic macro manager with a particular focus on foreign exchange. More than 70 percent of the $1.8bn AuM was invested in major and emerging FX markets.
Before Harmonic, Romael spent three years at Man Investment Products, trading for Man-Fidex, one of their systematic incubator funds.
