London - Refinitiv, formerly the Financial and Risk business of Thomson Reuters, today signed the Women in Finance Charter, a commitment by HM Treasury and signatory firms to promote gender balance across the UK financial services industry. The Charter commits firms to supporting the progression of women into senior roles in the financial services sector.

By signing the Charter, Refinitiv is joining the 300 other signatories who are committing to support the progression of women into senior roles in financial services, create a diversity strategy with internal targets, and publicly report on progress delivered against these internal targets.

“At Refinitiv, we firmly believe diversity of people and ideas within a company makes it stronger while also making it a better place for us all to work,” said David Craig, CEO of Refinitiv. “We remain committed to reaching a minimum of 40% female representation in senior leadership roles globally by 2020, as we continue to build an open and inclusive culture that drives better performance.”

Refinitiv was previously on the Women in Finance Charter when it was the Financial & Risk business of Thomson Reuters, having joined in 2016 as the first signatory outside the banking sector.
